His turning point started when one day he went out for a swim. It was perfectly average day in Malibu. Lets Go to the beach!! and lets go to the water!! he didn't know that it was monsoon and it was dangerous to swim at the ocean during this time.
I was in the ocean........But suddenly was a huge wave and I lost it....I have no power to swim anymore...i know there is nobody can save me....i was there by myself that time...........
Then , deep in my heart i tried to call 'someone'........
'God, if you save me.....i'll work for you'............
and with that...... the giant wave came from his back and forcing him to the beach....and then he almost instantly on the sand....
............what arose within my heart after this incident ??.......
Deep down in my heart i started to think..........ULTIMATELY...THERE ARE HIGHER CONTROL OVER ONE'S LIFE...
after his nearly drowned incident...he still wasn't sure on what really happen...and his journey begin
One day his brother gave him an Al-Quran as a gift...His brother said "Perhaps there's something in here...thats people will overlook it"
Then he started to read Quran...'It was the book that i couldn't put it down' 'It was difficult to get away from the message '..."Its was the real light....something supernatural and devine...
It was several years..before he finally converted to islam. And within this years he has been reading the Quran without knowing how it practices in Muslim Life....and one day...
He went to a mosque...."Up to this point i was reading a Quran....but this is the first time i heard the call for prayer (Athan) and the feel of the atmosphere .
and they asked me "Who are you ?"...............and for the first time i said.............
"I'M A MUSLIM"......i suddenly at one moment realized...thats everything that Quran was telling me, guiding me to.......i accepted it..............
and this is the last song he sang as Cats Steven and he made last appearance in front of his fans...singing this song.......
